Ok, I need to rant. LOST last night had me all tense and hopping around the house yelling.
Ok, how in the mighty fuck could they do that to Shannon? I am royally pissed right now, because she was an awesome character and you really felt for her after the flashbacks in the episode.
And that's another thing that bugs me! Why would they give us such an engaging story and make us feel for her, hoping that she and Sayid will be happy together, and then go and kill her? That's not right. In fact, I'm going to go as far to say that that's bad material. It's playing with the audience's emotions and then it's a major let down. They could have handled the ending of the episode much better than that.
Before the death scene, I really enjoyed the episode. I loved how Michael interacted with Sawyer (definate slash potential there), and I liked the little snip about Charlie being too overbearing with Claire, and then Claire telling Locke about the statue of the Virgin Mary, which he knows holds heroin. But Ana is someone who I would not mind being killed off. She was pissing me off so bad that I wanted to step through the tv screen and strangle her, especially with the way she was treating Sawyer. The one part where I felt for her was when she was telling Michael about what the Others did to her group. That made me feel realy bad for what she had to go through.
However, going back to Shannon, me and two of my friends have come up with a theory that is plausible. We think that she could still be saved. You have to have been shot a 1/2 inch away from the heart for it to be instantly fatal, and there are many people who have survived a gunshot would to the stomach. Now if only they could make it back to camp in time... After all, since when have LOST previews really told us the truth? Maybe none of the castaways are going to be "lost forever".
Other than that, my week has been ok. I'm working on putting up material in my writing journal and should have Friends Never Say Goodbye up soon.
