Brokeback Mountain
Jan. 2nd, 2006 07:58 pm*inarticulate squealing* Ohmygodsohmygodsohmygods!!!!!!!!! SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
*pants* I saw it! Yes, I've seen Brokeback Mountain. I've been waiting to see this movie since September and it finally came out in Baltimore on Friday (December 30th). So I went to see it today at The Charles theater with my girlfriend (Ene) and I was seriously about to die every minute that movie was on screen.
*more squealing* It was just so beautiful that I can't describe it. Both Jake and Heath were at the top of their very impressive game in this film and I can't articulate how sad and tragic the ending is. I don't think that there was a dry eye in the theater. I wasn't crying at first, but then Ene started crying, so I started. It wasn't like Finding Neverland, where we were crying for ten minutes after the end, but it was appropriate. The whole movie is low key and quietly pulling on your heartstrings, so it figures the reactions would be quiet as well.
What had me cracking up was the amount of gay couples there. Yeah, I know that was the idea, but it still got me laughing when three couples came into the theater in succession. I dunno why, because me and Ene were only adding to it. But whatever.
This movie better dominate the Oscars this year... *dissolves into tears remembering last scene*.
